GlenAllachie Releases White Heather 15 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky
The GlenAllachie Distillers Company has announced the launch of White Heather 15 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky. The new expression joins White Heather 21 Year Old, which launched in March 2021, to form the blended Scotch whisky brand’s core range.
White Heather 15 Year Old contains a high malt content of 47% and is composed of peated and unpeated malts from Speyside, Islay and the Northern Highlands along with carefully selected grain whiskies.
To create White Heather 15 Year Old, whiskies matured in Sherry butts and American oak barrels were blended and re-racked into Pedro Ximénez puncheons, Oloroso Sherry puncheons, and American virgin oak casks to age for an additional three years, before being bottled at 46% ABV with no added coloring or chill-filtration.
White Heather 15 Year Old is described as having aromas of “heather honey, butterscotch, orange peel, pineapple, mint, and a hint of peat,” notes of “treacle, heather honey, butterscotch, orange peel, grapefruit, and almonds” on the palate, and “mocha, ginger, and a light wisp of peaty smoke” on the finish.
White Heather 15 Year Old Blended Scotch Whisky is available now at a suggested retail price of £59.99.
