Beam Releases Basil Hayden Subtle Smoke
Beam Suntory has announced Basil Hayden Subtle Smoke, a one-time limited release that provides a more subtle and approachable take on smoky spirits.
To create Basil Hayden Subtle Smoke, straight Bourbon whiskey is finished for six months in a barrel that has been toasted and lightly charred and pumped with smoke from hickory chips.
Basil Hayden Subtle Smoke is bottled at 40% ABV and described as having aromas of “mellow smoke with a hint of vanilla,” followed by notes of “soft char with light sweetness reminiscent of butterscotch and maple” on the palate, concluding with “a crisp, yet delicate finish of smokiness with light toasted hickory wood.”
Basil Hayden Subtle Smoke is available now and carries a suggested retail price of $49.99 for a 750 mL bottle.
