Maker’s Mark and The Lee Initiative Announce Second Annual CommUNITY Batch Bourbon

Maker’s Mark and The LEE Initiative have announced the release of the second annual CommUNITY Batch Bourbon, with 100% of proceeds supporting the hospitality industry.
The 2020 Maker’s Mark CommUNITY Batch Bourbon generated over $2 million for hospitality relief, and the 2021 offering will continue supporting the bar and restaurant community with a limited release that combines Private Selection recipes of 41 whisky clubs from across the United States and one in the UK.
To create the CommUNITY Batch Bourbon, Maker’s Mark created individual barrels of Private Selection bourbon by taking fully-matured cask strength Maker’s Mark and finishing it with each partner’s unique combination of ten-barrel staves for an additional nine weeks in the Maker’s Mark Cellar. Once finished, the whisky from the barrels was blended and filled back into the barrels to rest for an additional five weeks to allow the bourbon to properly integrate.
The second annual Maker’s Mark CommUNITY Batch Bourbon has a stave contribution consisting of 18% P2, 22% CU, 17% 46, 28% MN, and 15% SP and is bottled at 53.85% ABV (107.7 proof).
Launching on Giving Tuesday (November 30, 2021), the second annual Maker’s Mark CommUNITY Batch Bourbon will be available via The LEE Initiative in select cities where Maker’s Mark Private Selection partners are located.
