The Balvenie French Oak 16 Year Old - Front Label

Labels approved by the TTB have revealed The Balvenie French Oak 16 Year Old, a single malt Scotch whisky initially matured for 16 years in American oak casks, then finished in Pineau fortified wine casks before being bottled at 47.6% ABV.

The front label describes the American oak cask maturation as contributing notes of “vanilla spice and warm honey”, while finishing in the Pineau casks bring notes of “grapefruit, geranium, glazed fruit and ginger.”

Expect an official announcement with more information, including pricing, release date, and availability, prior to launch.
