Laphroaig Càirdeas Pedro Ximénez Casks Arriving in 2021

Laphroaig Càirdeas Pedro Ximénez Casks has been revealed as 2021’s bottling of the annual Laphroaig Càirdeas release.
Labels submitted to the TTB website indicate Laphroaig Càirdeas Pedro Ximénez Casks has been triple matured. The first maturation was in 1st Fill American Oak ex-Bourbon Barrels, the second in American Oak ex-Bourbon Quarter Casks, and the third a finish in European Oak Hogsheads originally containing PX (Pedro Ximénez) Sherry. The PX influence is described as adding a “sweetness which is balanced with oak and all the much-loved classic Laphroaig flavours of peat, smoke and salt.”
Laphroaig Càirdeas Pedro Ximénez Casks will be bottled NCF (Non-Chill Filtered) at a cask strength of 58.9% ABV and is expected to hit stores between summer and fall 2021.
