Highland Park Launches Cask Strength Release No. 1
Highland Park has announced the launch of Cask Strength Release No. 1, the first release of a new expression created to “capture the essential DNA of Highland Park” by bottling their spirit with no added water, no chill filtration, and no added color.
Highland Park Cask Strength Release No. 1 is matured predominantly in sherry seasoned American oak casks that have been hand-selected by Highland Park’s Master Whisky Maker, Gordon Motion, and bottled without an age statement at 63.3% ABV.
Cask Strength Release No. 1 is described as “sweet and smoky” on the nose, with aromas of “violets and ripe vanilla pods amidst waves of aromatic peat smoke.” On the palate, it’s “rich and full-bodied, with soft toffee, heather honey, freshly grated nutmeg, and sun-ripened citrus fruits that give way to an exotically spiced crème brûlée finish.”
Highland Park Cask Strength Release No. 1 finds its way to stores later this month at a suggested retail price of £60.00 (~$77).
