Highland Park Relaunches 21 Year Old Single Malt

Highland Park 21 Year Old August 2019 Release

Highland Park has relaunched their 21 Year Old single malt Scotch whisky, which was discontinued in 2017 alongside other expressions such as Highland Park 15 Year Old and Dark Origins.

As with Highland Park’s other older whiskies, the 21 year old will be bottled in small batches and the flavor profile will change slightly from batch to batch based on cask composition. The first batch of the new Highland Park 21 Year Old is the August 2019 Release, created from six first-fill sherry seasoned European oak casks, four first-fill sherry seasoned American oak casks, and five refill casks laid down in 1998 and earlier years. Each cask has been matured in Highland Park’s island warehouses for a minimum of 21 years.

Bottled at 46% ABV, Highland Park 21 Year Old August 2019 Release is described as having notes of “freshly grated nutmeg, fiery root ginger and sun-ripened orange peel, perfectly balanced by ripe mango, sweet pear and a rich vein of creamy vanilla, with a subtle breath of aromatic peat smoke at the finish.”

Highland Park 21 Year Old August 2019 Release is available now at a suggested retail price of £230 ($280).
