The Balvenie DoubleWood Aged 25 Years Revealed

Labels submitted to the TTB have revealed The Balvenie distillery’s plan to release The Balvenie DoubleWood Aged 25 Years, a limited edition bottling to mark the 25th anniversary of The Balvenie DoubleWood.
The Balvenie DoubleWood is currently available in 12 and 17 year old offerings as part of The Balvenie’s core line-up. The DoubleWood range is renown for it’s consecutive maturation in two types of wood – first aged in traditional ex-bourbon casks, the whisky is then transferred to sherry casks for additional finishing. The labels submitted to the TTB give no indication as to how much time was spent in either cask type.
The Balvenie DoubleWood Aged 25 Years will be bottled at 43% ABV. Expect an official announcement and more information prior to it’s release later this year.
