Old Elk Launches 10 Year Collection
Old Elk Distillery has announced the launch of the Old Elk 10 Year Collection, consisting of a Straight Bourbon, Wheated Bourbon, and Wheat Whiskey.
Old Elk 10 Year Straight Bourbon:
Distilled from a mash bill of 51% corn, 34% malted barley, and 15% rye, then aged for 10 years and bottled at 105 proof (52.5% ABV).
Old Elk 10 Year Straight Bourbon is described as having aromas of “rich oak, fig jam, almond paste, cocoa powder, and subtle honeycomb.” The palate exhibits notes of “bright fruits, oak sweetness, caramel, and vanillas.” It finishes with “smooth vanilla oak, confectioner sugar, and light stonefruits.”
Old Elk 10 Year Wheated Bourbon:
Distilled from a mash bill of 51% corn, 46% wheat, and 3% malted barley, then aged for 10 years and bottled at 105 proof (52.5% ABV).
Old Elk 10 Year Wheated Bourbon is described as having aromas of “brown sugar, French vanilla ice cream, toasted hay, and caramel cream.” The palate exhibits notes of “chocolate pastries, brown sugar, and vanilla custard.” The finish is “warming, with sweet oak and vanilla cream.”
Old Elk 10 Year Wheat Whiskey:
Distilled from a mash bill of 96% wheat and 4% malted barley, then aged for 10 years and bottled at 103 proof (51.5% ABV).
Old Elk 10 Year Wheat Whiskey is described as having aromas of “toasted oak, baking spices, stewed apples, and brown sugar.” The palate exhibits notes of “peaches, apricots, brown sugar, sweet cream, and cinnamon.” It finishes with “baking spices, toasted bread, and sweet oak.”
