Glencadam Announces Return of Tawny Port Cask Finish and White Port Cask Finish

Glencadam Distillery has announced the next phase of its new packaging rollout, with three expressions transitioning to the brand’s new look.
The new packaging now extends to Glencadam Reserva Andalucía, as well as two returning expressions: Glencadam Reserva de Porto Tawny and Glencadam Reserva de Porto Branco.
Glencadam Reserva Andalucía is crafted by marrying single malts matured in sherry butts and bourbon casks, and then finishing the vatting in Oloroso Sherry butts from Andalucía. It’s described as having aromas of “ripe soft fruits, soft nougat, and oaky vanilla with a background of freshly made fudge.” The palate is “smooth and creamy with sultanas, orchard fruits, and toffee apple sweetness.” The finish is “long lasting and silky smooth with honey, muscovado sugar, and green tea lingering on the tongue.”
Glencadam Reserva de Porto Tawny was initially matured in ex-bourbon American oak casks, then finished in Tawny Port barriques sourced from Portugal. It’s described as having aromas of “rich dark fruits and candied cloves with hints of blackcurrant liquorice and baking spices.” The palate exhibits “layers of brambles, blackcurrant jam, treacle toffees, and Morello cherries leading into plum crumble and cedarwood spices.” It finishes with “warming notes of walnut, golden syrup, and Victoria sponge cake fading into toasty wood spices.”
Glencadam Reserva de Porto Branco was initially matured in ex-bourbon American oak casks, then finished in White Port barriques sourced from Portugal. It’s described as having aromas of “tangy strawberries and stone fruits bound with Chantilly cream, buttery malt, and citrus oils.” The palate exhibits “sweet layers of summer berries and baked apple mingled with golden raisins, raspberry jam, and brandy snap biscuits.” It finishes with “white pepper and custard tarts fading as cinder toffee and sandalwood linger.”
All three expressions are presented of natural color, non-chill filtered, and at 46% ABV, and carry a recommended retail price of £46.50.
