The Dalmore Unveils Select Editions 2007 & 2010

The Dalmore has unveiled two new limited edition Single Malt Scotch Whiskies: The Dalmore Select Edition 2007 and The Dalmore Select Edition 2010.
The Dalmore Select Editions are one-time releases, each non-chill filtered, of natural color, and bottled at specially selected strengths by The Dalmore whisky makers. This year’s releases explore the flavors of freshly baked patisserie.
The Dalmore Select Edition 2007 is an 18 year old single malt that was initially matured in American white oak ex-Bourbon barrels, then finished in hand-selected Apóstoles and Amoroso Sherry casks before being bottled at 46.7% (93.4 proof). The Dalmore Select Edition 2007 is described as having aromas of “rich maple syrup, fresh pain au chocolat, dark citrus, nutmeg, and antique leather.” The palate exhibits notes of “caramelized poached pears, Seville orange, Madagascan vanilla, baked apples, moist ginger cake, and rich Brazil nuts” It concludes with “grilled pineapple, bergamot, black licorice, dark cacao powder, and exotic spices.”
The Dalmore Select Edition 2010 is a 15 year old single malt that was initially matured in American white oak ex-Bourbon barrels, then finished in hand-selected Matusalem and Amoroso Sherry casks before being bottled at 49.1% ABV (98.2 proof). The Dalmore Select Edition 2010 is described as having aromas of “ethereal honeysuckle, sugared almonds, fresh baked brioche, and delicate mandarin, accentuated with light cacao.” The palate exhibits notes of “vibrant crème brûlée, apricot tarte tatin, golden raisins, red licorice, white chocolate, and cinnamon.” It concludes with “a mouthwatering finish of candied citrus, madeleines, and Muscat grapes, soft ginger, and baking spice.”
