Oban Releases 15 Year Old Port Cask Finish
Oban has announced the second release in its limited edition 15 Year Old cask finished series: Oban 15 Year Old Port Cask Finish.
Oban 15 Year Old Port Cask Finish was initially aged for 15 years in American Oak Hogsheads, then finished in 100% ex-American Oak Ruby Port casks sourced from Portugal and bottled at 52.1% ABV.
Oban 15 Year Old Port Cask Finish is described as having aromas of “fruity dry white wine, hints of raspberries and vanilla ice cream, and maritime notes of sea breeze and warm sand.” The palate exhibits a “soft, creamy-smooth texture with honeyed sweetness and juicy red fruit, developing into gentle salinity and peppery spice.” The finish is “short to medium length and dry, with lingering white pepper.”
Oban 15 Year Old Port Cask Finish is now available at select retailers nationwide for a suggested retail price of $130 for a 750 mL bottle.
