The Dalmore Unveils Cask Curation Series: The Red Wine Cask Edition
The Dalmore has unveiled the third installment of it’s Cask Curation Series: The Red Wine Cask Edition.
The Cask Curation Series highlights celebrated makers and their partnerships with The Dalmore. The Red Wine Cask Edition is a collection of three whiskies celebrating The Dalmore’s partnership with France’s Château Mont-Redon of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. All three whiskies are finished in the same 2023 Château Mont-Redon Châteauneuf-du-Pape casks, showcasing how flavor imparted from these casks can influence The Dalmore’s spirit at different ages – 24, 34 and 43 Years Old.
The Dalmore Cask Curation Series: The Red Wine Cask Edition – Aged 24 Years:
Bottled at 40.7% ABV, it’s described as having aromas of “rich honey, sweet citrus, hints of orchard fruits, and delicate spice.” The palate exhibits notes of “red berries, crème brûlée, orange zest, and hints of dark toffee.” It finishes with notes of “toffee, mandarin, lightly roasted coffee, and soft exotic spices.”
The Dalmore Cask Curation Series: The Red Wine Cask Edition – Aged 34 Years:
Bottled at 40.5% ABV, it’s described as having aromas of “subtle floral notes, with hints of forest fruits, vanilla, and Seville orange.” The palate exhibits notes of “rich dark berries, stone fruits, and vanilla.” It finishes with “warm honey, white chocolate, and a touch of liquorice.”
The Dalmore Cask Curation Series: The Red Wine Cask Edition – Aged 43 Years:
Bottled at 40.3% ABV, it’s described as having aromas of “dried fruit, orange marmalade, manuka honey, and antique leather.” The palate exhibits notes of “forest berries, dark chocolate, with hints of honeyed mango, and warming spice.” It finishes with “dark fruit, cocoa with a hint of espresso, and aged wood spice.”
All three whiskies in The Red Wine Cask Edition are bottled of natural color and non-chill filtered, and presented in a bespoke lapis-blue leather carry case which doubles as a display case.
The Dalmore Cask Curation Series: The Red Wine Cask Edition is limited to just 150 sets worldwide and is available worldwide at select outlets for a suggested retail price of £36,100 / $44,450 per set.
