Westland Whiskey Releases 10 Year Old Garryana American Single Malt

Westland Whiskey has announced the release of Westland Garryana American Single Malt 10th Edition, a continuation of Westland’s exploration of Quercus garryana, the rare oak indigenous to the Pacific Northwest. Garryana 10th Edition also marks the first-ever age-stated whiskey released by Westland.
Distilled from Westland’s Signature Five Malt and Washington Pale Malts, Garryana 10th Edition was matured for 10 years in first and second fill Garryana oak casks, as well as Pedro Ximénez sherry, Rum, and ex-Bourbon casks, and is bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV).
Garryana 10th Edition is described as having aromas of “mulled wine with clove, walnut fudge brownie, and lemon Danish pastry,” and a palate of “s’mores, dehydrated strawberry, toasted cumin seed, and blood orange.”
Westland Garryana 10th Edition is limited to approximately 4,608 bottles globally and will be available beginning this month for a suggested retail price of $149.99 for a 700 mL bottle.
Editor’s Note: As shared in this Seattle Times story, a large portion of Garryana 10th Edition inventory was stolen when en route from Skagit Valley to a New Jersey warehouse, alongside other Westland whiskeys. While all was not lost, the quantity was greatly reduced, and this year’s expression will be more scarce.
