Old Potrero Launches 2025 California Cellar Series Expressions
Hotaling & Co. has announced the launch of the 2025 Old Potrero California Cellar Series expressions.
Old Potrero Toasted Barrel Rye Whiskey Finished in Gundlach Bundschu Gewurztraminer Barrels:
To create this expression, Old Potrero Straight Rye Whiskey aged for 5 years and 8 months in new fine grain toasted American Oak barrels was finished in Gundlach Bundschu Gewurztraminer barrels for 14 months. Bottled at 57.3% ABV, it’s described as having aromas of “ripe fruit, grass, caramel, and lychee.” The palate exhibits flavors of “candied caramel, cantaloupe, and tropical fruit.” It finishes with “floral notes, ginger root, and slightly fruity.”
Old Potrero Straight Rye Whiskey Finished in Almanac Beer Co. Imperial Stout Oak Barrels:
To create this expression, Old Potrero Toasted Barrel Rye Whiskey aged for 6 years and 6 months in new charred American Oak barrels was finished for 5 months in Old Potrero rye barrels that previously aged a custom imperial stout from Almanac Beer Co. for 8 months. Bottled at 57.5% ABV, it’s described as having aromas of “chocolate, a hint of vanilla, and barrel rickhouse.” The palate exhibits flavors of “caramel, roasted malt, and spiced apricot.” The finish is “viscous, with a long finish, and deep stone fruit and rye spice.”
Both expressions will be available beginning this month for a suggested retail price of $79.99 for a 700 mL bottle.
