The Glendronach Unveils The Master’s Anthology
The Glendronach Distillery has unveiled The Master’s Anthology, a new collection of Highland Single Malt Scotch Whiskies that captures the breadth and depth of sherry cask maturation.
Curated by Master Blender Rachel Barrie, The Master’s Anthology is comprised of three non-age-statement single malts: Ode to The Valley, Ode to The Embers, and Ode to The Dark.
The Glendronach Ode to The Valley was matured in Sherry and Ruby Port casks. It’s bottled at 46.2% ABV and with only natural cask-imparted color. Ode to The Valley is described as having aromas of “late summer berries and chocolate de leche imbued with sweet demerara and apricot glaze.” The palate exhibits flavors of “blackberry and roasted apple crumble with freshly baked gingerbread and sweet damson plum.” SRP £67.00.
The Glendronach Ode to The Embers is a peated expression matured in Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez Sherry casks. It’s bottled at 48.4% ABV and with only natural cask-imparted color. Ode to The Embers is described as having aromas of “cinnamon spiced toffee, apple, and caramelised walnut brittle intertwined with flamed orange on a smouldering open fire.” The palate exhibits flavors of “raisin and honeyed walnut melded with bramble ganache and smoked chocolate fudge.” SRP £72.00.
The Glendronach Ode to The Dark was matured in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. It’s bottled at 50.8% ABV and with only natural cask-imparted color. Ode to The Dark is described as having aromas of “mocha, black cherry, and dark chocolate followed by créme brûlée with raisin, brown sugar, and ginger.” The palate exhibits flavors of “smooth espresso and crème caramel folding into black grape and mint chocolate ganache.” SRP £77.00.
The Master’s Anthology collection will launch in the UK and German markets this month, with wider availability expected in early 2025.
