Old Potrero Launches Christmas Spirit 12 Year Old Whiskey
Hotaling & Co. has announced the launch of Old Potrero Christmas Spirit, a 12 year old American whiskey distilled from a spiced ale.
To create Old Potrero Christmas Spirit, Hotaling & Co. Distillery took an iconic San Francisco Christmas Spiced Ale from 2011 and distilled it twice in copper pot stills, then aged it for 12 years in once-used Old Potrero Straight Rye Whiskey barrels.
Bottled at 50% ABV, Old Potrero Christmas Spirit is described as having aromas of “orange, chocolate, and vanilla.” The palate exhibits notes of “roasted barley, sweet cinnamon, and spiced berries.” It finishes with “spiced orange, mulled wine, and fresh cut nutmeg.”
Presented with a “To & From” gift card neck tag on each bottle, Old Potrero Christmas Spirit is available exclusively at retailers in California and via Hotaling & Co.’s website for shipping to 46 states. Old Potrero Christmas Spirit carries a suggested retail price of $139.99 for a 700 mL bottle.
