The Dalmore Unveils Cask Curation Series The Port Edition

The Dalmore has unveiled the Cask Curation Series Port Edition, the second installment in a series highlighting celebrated makers and their partnerships with The Dalmore.
The Port Edition is a collection of three whiskies celebrating The Dalmore’s exclusive partnership with one of Portugal’s finest winemakers, Symington Family Estates. The whiskies are finished in Graham’s Port casks and presented in natural color and non-chill filtered.
The Dalmore Cask Curation Port Edition 27 Year Old 1997 Cask Finish:
Matured in American white oak ex-Bourbon casks and finished in Cask No. 2 – a very rare 1997 Single Harvest Tawny Port cask. Bottled at 49.3% ABV, it’s described as having aromas of “Manuka honey, bergamot, marzipan, roasted Columbian coffee, damsons, allspice, and cassia bark.” The palate exhibits notes of “ripe figs, blackcurrant, and warm honey spice complemented with dark cacao, roasted chestnuts, dark toffee, and liquorice.” It finishes with notes of “sugared almonds, citrus peel, crystallised ginger, and soft spice.”
The Dalmore Cask Curation Port Edition 30 Year Old 1994 Cask Finish:
Matured in American white oak ex-Bourbon casks and finished in Cask No. 3 – a very rare 1994 Single Harvest Tawny Port cask from Graham’s Port. Bottled at 43.9% ABV, it’s described as having aromas of “warm honey, blood orange, Medjool dates, poached pears, cinnamon, crème brulee, blackcurrant, and exotic spices.” The palate exhibits notes of “blood orange, soft plums, dates, red liquorice, dark chocolate brioche, Tahitian vanilla, and patisserie spices.” It finishes with notes of “Madagascan vanilla, black cherries, candied orange peel, dark roasted coffee, and aged maple syrup.”
The Dalmore Cask Curation Port Edition 43 Year Old 1952 Cask Finish:
Matured in American white oak ex-Bourbon casks and finished in Cask No. 1 – a 1952 Single Harvest Tawny Port cask from Graham’s Port. Bottled at 41.8% ABV, it’s described as having aromas of “forest fruits, plums, sugared almonds, cacao, star anise, natural vanilla, soft caramel, dried apricots, and baking spice.” The palate exhibits notes of “plum compote, passion fruit, marzipan, and red and black liquorice complemented by Alphonso mangos and Morello cherries.” It finishes with notes of “iced ginger cake, leather, sweet tobacco, poached pears, and soft wood spice.”
Limited to just 150 sets worldwide, The Port Edition is presented in a bespoke leather-finished travel case handcrafted in Florence, Italy. Each whisky is housed in the iconic Dalmore bottle adorned with a matching collar.
The Dalmore Cask Curation Series The Port Edition is available worldwide in select outlets for a suggested retail price of £35,000 per set.
