The Dalmore Unveils Distillery Select Series
The Dalmore has unveiled the Distillery Select Series, a new collection of limited edition expressions featuring rare parcels of spirit laid down in specific casks hand-selected by The Dalmore’s whisky makers. Each expression was selected to highlight how the casks enhance an element of The Dalmore’s signature house style.
The Dalmore Distillery Select 2009 Vintage Sherry Cask Finish (2024 Bottling):
Distilled in 2009, this 15 year old single malt was finished in vintage sherry casks sourced exclusively from González Byass in Spain. Limited to 2,736 bottles and presented at 52.8% ABV, it’s described as having aromas of “Manuka honey, a hint of cinnamon, and banana bread.” The palate exhibits notes of “orchard fruits, Golden Delicious apples, and poached pears intertwined with Ogen melons.” It finishes with notes of “sultanas, liquorice, mandarin orange, and a touch of cacao.” RRP: £300.
The Dalmore Distillery Select 2007 Amarone and Port Cask finishes (2024 Bottling):
Distilled in 2007, this 17 year old single malt is finished in Amarone casks from Italy and Port casks from Portugal. Limited to 918 bottles and presented at 45.8% ABV, it’s described as having aromas of “warm summer fruits, raspberry myrtle, succulent Victoria plums, and maraschino cherry.” The palate exhibits notes of “rich forest fruits interlaced with vanilla.” It finishes with “Panna cotta, floral notes, and a hint of violet.” RRP: £1,000.
The Dalmore Distillery Select 2000 Vintage Calvados Finish (2024 Bottling):
Distilled in 2000, this 24 year old single malt was initially matured in American white oak and then finished in hand-selected vintage Calvados casks sourced from the House of Drouin, France. Limited to 383 bottles and presented at 50.3% ABV, it’s described as having aromas of “a dusting of sugared almonds, rich apple, and plums.” The palate exhibits notes of “red berries, freshly crushed apple, and pears.” It finishes with notes of “liquorice, antique wood spice, and a touch of balsamic.” RRP: £5,000.
Each of the whiskies in The Dalmore Distillery Select Series is presented of natural color and non-chill filtered. The 2024 collection is available exclusively via The Dalmore website for those in the UK, and in The Dalmore Boutiques now open in Madrid – Spain, Manila – Philippines, and Phnom Penh – Cambodia.
