Mac-Talla Releases Rum Cask Finished Fèis Ìle Bottling
Mac-Talla has announced the release of Mac-Talla Rum Cask – Friends of the Fèis 2024, an exclusive Fèis Ìle bottling.
To create this Islay Festival exclusive bottling, Mac-Talla selected a parcel of undislcosed Islay single malt that had been maturing in refill bourbon hogsheads for over 10 years, and transferred it into 12 first-fill Caribbean rum casks from Cruzan Rum Distillery. After over 5 years of additional maturation, two of these casks were selected to be married together to create the Mac-Talla Rum Cask – Friends of the Fèis 2024 bottling.
Bottled at 53.7% ABV and presented non-chill filtered and with no added color, Mac-Talla Rum Cask – Friends of the Fèis 2024 is described as having aromas of “gentle peat smoke with floral, bright and fresh notes” and flavors of “chargrilled pineapples and papaya with subtle bonfire embers.”
Mac-Talla Rum Cask – Friends of the Fèis 2024 is limited to 580 bottles and carries a recommended retail price of £98.
