The Glasgow Distillery Announces Three New Small Batch Series Expressions

The Glasgow Distillery has announced the launch of three new limited edition expressions in the Glasgow 1770 Small Batch Series: Tequila Cask Finish, Manzanilla Sherry Cask, and Calvados Cask Finish.

Glasgow 1770 Tequila Cask Finish was triple distilled from unpeated malted barley on February 3, 2018 and initially matured in a first fill ex-Bourbon cask, then finished in a Tequila cask for 2 years and 6 months. On June 27, 2023, it was bottled non-chill filtered and of natural color at 55.3% ABV, yielding 272 70 cL bottles. Glasgow 1770 Tequila Cask Finish is described as having notes of “honey, lemon and lime citrus, honeydew melon, and milk chocolate.” RRP £59.

Glasgow 1770 Manzanilla Sherry Cask was double distilled from unpeated malted barley on March 12, 2018 and fully matured in a refill Manzanilla Sherry butt that previously held peated single malt. On July 25, 2023, it was bottled non-chill filtered and of natural color at 59% ABV, yielding 813 70 cL bottles. Glasgow 1770 Manzanilla Sherry Cask is described as having notes of “saline smoke, plum, dried apricot, tropical papaya, leather, tobacco, dark chocolate, and espresso.” RRP £59.

Glasgow 1770 Calvados Cask Finish was double distilled from unpeated malted barley on May 23, 2017 and initially matured in a first fill ex-Bourbon cask, then finished in a French Calvados cask for 2 years and 5 months. On June 20, 2023, it was bottled non-chill filtered and of natural color at 58.7% ABV, yielding 270 70 cL bottles. Glasgow 1770 Calvados Cask Finish is described as having notes of “fresh green apple, poached pear, baked apple pie, and nutmeg spice.” RRP £59.
