Eden Mill St Andrews Adds Bourbon and Sherry Cask Matured Single Malts to Core Range
Eden Mill St Andrews has announced two new Single Malt Scotch Whiskies that will become part of the distillery’s core range: Bourbon Cask and Sherry Cask.
Crafted by head distiller Scott Ferguson at the original Eden Mill distillery – which will soon be moving to its new site after an extensive, multi-million-pound refurbishment – the new whiskies will be available year-round and complemented by additional annual and limited releases, such as the Art of St Andrews series.
Eden Mill St Andrews Bourbon Cask is Eden Mill’s first release to mature exclusively in American Oak bourbon casks from start to finish, and is described as exhibiting a “spicy and sweet vanilla profile – think light spice meets caramel and fruit crumble.”
Eden Mill St Andrews Sherry Cask is finished in first-fill Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez casks and is described as “reminiscent of chocolate raisins, dates, and subtle cassia spice.”
The Bourbon Cask and Sherry Cask expressions officially launch Eden Mill’s refreshed brand identity and are the first to come in the brand’s new single malt bottle and carton. The sides of the new bottle have ridges which represent the silhouette of the roof of the new distillery, and the bottle is embossed with the brands new tagline: The Spirit of St Andrews. The cartons have a rich, blue texture that evokes the waters of the Eden Estuary that surrounds the distillery, with distinct color flashes to differentiate the two releases.
Eden Mill St Andrews Bourbon Cask (£55 / 70 cL) and Sherry Cask (£65 / 70 cL) are presented of natural color, non-chill filtered, and bottled at 46% ABV, and are available now via Eden Mill, Master of Malt, and select retailers.
