Westward Whiskey has unveiled Westward Whiskey Milestone Edition No. 1, the first release in a limited edition, annual series which will evolve and change with each year.

Created to commemorate the producer’s 20th anniversary – coming up in 2024 – and to showcase two decades of whiskey knowledge, Westward Whiskey has drawn from Old World winemaking, distilling, and maturation traditions and applied them to American Whiskey making.

Westward Whiskey Milestone is crafted from a 21 barrel Solera system that includes some of their oldest and most precious whiskeys and a long, slow proofing process. Under the guidance of Master Blender Miles Munroe, the company will draw off a small fraction of this whiskey for each annual release, replacing it with something unique from the barrel house. This fractional blending and meticulous proofing process will continue year after year.

Bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof), Westward Whiskey Milestone Edition No. 1 is described as having aromas of “candied citrus, heather honey, toasted almonds, and toffee.” The palate exhibits notes of “raisin and plum, light butterscotch, cinnamon spice, and walnuts.” It concludes with “brown sugar, baking spices, and rich dried fruit with lingering vanilla” on the finish.

Each bottle of Westward Whiskey Milestone is individually numbered and presented in a gift box inspired by the company’s Northwest heritage. Included with each purchase is a printed invitation to join the Milestone Society, the company’s invitation-only community of enthusiasts, open exclusively to bottle holders. Benefits for Milestone Society members include more information on the making of Milestone, notifications for future limited Westward releases, and access to exclusive events across the country.

Westward Whiskey Milestone will be available to the general public on November 8 and sold exclusively via westwardwhiskey.com at $249.95 for a 750 mL bottle.
