Leith Export Co. Launches Perpetuity Blended Scotch Whisky

Perpetuity Blended Scotch Whisky Batch 1

The Leith Export Co. has announced the release of its first whisky: Perpetuity, a Blended Scotch Whisky modeled on the infinity bottle concept.

Ian Stirling, Co-Founder of Leith Export Co., said: “The name Perpetuity is inspired by the way we intend to collect and blend whiskies from distilleries across Scotland, bottle at least half of this vat and then replenish with different whiskies, which leaves us with a perpetual vat of intriguing and complex Scotch whisky.

The recipe for Perpetuity Batch 1 follows:

  • Glentauchers single malt matured in a First-Fill Oloroso sherry hogshead for 6 years (21.9%)
  • North British single grain matured in an Ex-bourbon American standard barrel for 13 years (22.2%)
  • Deanston single malt matured in an Ex-Bourbon American standard barrel for 9 years (23.9%)
  • North British single grain matured in a Virgin oak American standard barrel for 7 years (32%)

Perpetuity Batch 1 is bottled at 45.7% ABV and is described as having aromas of “caramelised apple tart, custard danish pastries, and sandalwood.” The palate exhibits notes of “Crème brûlée, lemon sherberts, toffee, and marmalade.” It concludes with “lemon drizzle cake with clotted cream” on the finish.

Perpetuity Batch 1 is limited to 1,430 bottles and is now available from The Leith Export Co. website, Lind & Lime distillery shop, and select retailers for a suggested retail price of £38.50.
