Westland Outpost Range Garryana 7th Edition

Westland has announced the next release in their limited edition Outpost Range: Westland Garryana American Single Malt 7th Edition, a continuation of Westland’s exploration of Quercus garryana, the rare oak indigenous to the Pacific Northwest.

Garryana Edition 7 is composed of spirit matured in 1st Fill Ex-Bourbon and New American Oak casks for 4 years and finished in Washington State Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah red wine casks for 3 years (50%), married with spirit fully matured in Virgin Quercus Garryana (46%) and 1st Fill Ex-Bourbon casks (4%).

Garryana Edition 7 is described as having aromas of “blackberry compote, clove, pizza crust, and apple turnover,” with notes of “molasses, charred cedar, black currant, and dry apple cider” on the palate.

Bottled at 50% ABV, Westland Garryana 7th Edition will be available globally beginning this month and is limited to 6,900 bottles. It carries a suggested retail price of $149.99 for a 700 mL bottle.

The Westland Outpost Range features three limited edition expressions that are released annually — Garryana, Colere, and Solum American Single Malt Whiskies. The first edition of Solum is expected to arrive this year.
