The Glasgow Distillery Expands Glasgow 1770 Small Batch Series

Glasgow 1770 Golden Beer Cask Finish and Tokaji Cask Finish

The Glasgow Distillery has announced the launch of two new limited edition expressions in the Glasgow 1770 Small Batch Series: Golden Beer Cask Finish and Tokaji Cask Finish.

Glasgow 1770 Small Batch Series Golden Beer Cask Finish was matured in a first fill ex-bourbon cask and finished in a Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead which was previously used to mature Innis & Gunn’s Original Beer for three months. The single cask was bottled non-chill filtered and of natural color at 58.5% ABV, yielding 356 70 cL bottles. The Golden Beer Cask Finish is described as “a rich, sherry influenced whisky with notes of dark fruits, sticky toffee and rich vanilla, with a dry and hoppy finish.”

Glasgow 1770 Small Batch Series Tokaji Cask Finish was matured for two and a half years in a bourbon cask before being moved to a Hungarian Tokaji cask for over 18 months. The single cask was bottled non-chill filtered and of natural color at 58.1% ABV, yielding 210 70 cL bottles. The Tokaji Cask Finish is described as “a rich, punchy, sweet and fruity single malt with notes of vanilla ice cream and apricot jam.”

The Golden Beer Cask Finish and Tokaji Cask Finish carry a suggested retail price of £59 and are available now via The Glasgow Distillery website and at select UK retailers.
