Jack Daniel's Twice Barreled Special Release American Single Malt Whiskey Finished in Oloroso Sherry Casks

The Jack Daniel Distillery has announced the launch of Jack Daniel’s Twice Barreled Special Release American Single Malt Whiskey Finished in Oloroso Sherry Casks, marking the first time in history that the distillery has introduced a 100% malted barley grain bill.

The Jack Daniel’s 2022 Special Release is crafted from 100% malted barley that is ground, fermented, and distilled in Lynchburg, Tennessee. The whiskey passes through Jack Daniel’s traditional charcoal mellowing process and is then matured in new, charred American white oak barrels for at least four years, before being finished for an additional two years in Spanish Oloroso sherry casks from the Antonio Paez Lobato Cooperage.

Bottled at a cask proof ranging from 106.1-107.8 proof (53.05-53.9% ABV), Jack Daniel’s Twice Barreled Special Release American Single Malt is described as having aromas of “soft oak, fruit, and cocoa,” with flavors of “caramel and vanilla complemented by notes of chocolate-covered nuts and berries,” concluding with a “subtle sherry finish.”

Jack Daniel’s Twice Barreled Special Release American Single Malt Whiskey will be available nationwide in limited quantities beginning this month at a suggested retail price of $70 for a 700 mL bottle.
