WhistlePig SmokeStock Wood Fired Whiskey

WhistlePig has announced the launch of SmokeStock Wood Fired Whiskey, a limited edition whiskey aged in American Oak No. 3 char barrels and smoked with Traeger’s Apple BBQ Wood pellets.

WhistlePig used a two step process to introduce Traeger’s Apple BBQ Wood flavor to SmokeStock Whiskey. First, they smoked the barrels used for maturation with Traeger’s Apple BBQ Wood pellets. Second, they smoked the water used to proof down the whisky with Traeger’s Apple BBQ Wood pellets, introducing additional smoky, barbecue characteristics to the whiskey.

WhistlePig SmokeStock is described as having “smoky notes with hints of leather and vanilla” on the nose. On the palate, the “smoke gradually wells up bringing a mouthful of warm creamy apple and slight savory notes of barbecue.” It finishes “long and smoky with WhistlePig’s signature Rye finish.”

WhistlePig SmokeStock Whiskey is bottled at 43% ABV (86 proof) and is now available nationwide.
