Frey Ranch Distillery Releases Single Barrel Rye Whiskey
Frey Ranch Distillery has announced the release of a limited edition Single Barrel Straight Rye Whiskey.
Frey Ranch Single Barrel Rye is distilled from a mash bill of 100% Winter Cereal Rye – all grown and harvested on-site at Frey Ranch Distillery by Colby Frey – and aged in #4 char barrels capped with #3 char heads. Bottled at barrel strength, Frey Ranch Single Barrel Rye Whiskey is described as having “intense, earthy notes of charred applewood, perfume, and rye spice” on the nose, while the palate “vacillates between candied berries, fig jam, fruit cake, leather, and marzipan.”
To celebrate World Whisky Day while also acknowledging the local whiskey community that supports the Frey Ranch brand year-round, the team hosted an exclusive “hometown” launch in Fallon, Nevada on Saturday, May 21st, seeing a turnout of over 200 people and more than two single barrels worth of bottles sold.
Frey Ranch Single Barrel Rye will be available to the general public in September via Frey Ranch’s website and select retailers in Nevada. Frey Ranch Single Barrel Rye has a suggested retail price of $99.00 for a 750 mL bottle.
