Westland Announces 8th Annual Peat Week Release

Westland has announced Peat Week The Grand Finale, their 8th annual Peat Week Festival limited release and the last of the current series of circus-themed bottlings made from Scottish peated barley. Westland Solum, created using peat sourced locally in Washington State, will debut in 2023 as the new annual festival bottling.
Produced using Baird’s Heavily Peated Malt and Belgian Saison Brewer’s Yeast, Westland Peat Week The Grand Finale was matured in a single New American Oak Cooper’s Reserve barrel for 86 months (7 year 1 month) and bottled at 54.5% ABV (109 proof).
Peat Week The Grand Finale is described as having aromas of “floral and fruit wax, pastry dough, and charred cinnamon toast,” with notes of “savory smoke, espresso, and chocolate chip cookie dough” on the palate.
Westland Peat Week The Grand Finale is limited to 221 bottles and will first be available to purchase at Westland’s Week of Reek events on January 25th and 27th, before releasing to the general public on January 28th. It carries a suggested retail price of $99.99.
