2020 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection (BTAC)

The 2020 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection (BTAC) has been announced and will once again feature new releases of George T. Stagg, William Larue Weller, Thomas H. Handy, Eagle Rare 17 Year Old, and Sazerac 18 Year Old.

George T. Stagg

The 2020 release of George T. Stagg is bottled uncut and unfiltered at 130.4 proof (65.2% ABV). This release contains bourbon from barrels filled in the spring of 2005 and aged in Warehouses L, K, and Q. It’s described as having notes of “cinnamon, caramel and cherries” on the nose, “a creamy vanilla with lightly smoked oak” on the palate, and a finish of “black coffee, dark cherries and herbs.”

William Larue Weller

The 2020 release of William Larue Weller is bottled uncut and unfiltered at 134.5 proof (67.25% ABV). This wheated recipe bourbon was distilled in the winter of 2008 and aged in Warehouses I and C. It’s described as having notes of “soft caramel chew, spearmint and cinnamon.”

Thomas H. Handy

The 2020 release of Thomas H. Handy is bottled uncut and unfiltered at 129 proof (64.5% ABV). This straight rye whiskey was distilled in the spring of 2014 and aged in Warehouses K, M, and N. It’s described as having notes of “cinnamon, anise and honey.”

Eagle Rare 17 Year Old

The 2020 release of Eagle Rare 17 Year Old is bottled at 101 proof (50.5% ABV). This bourbon was distilled in the Spring of 2002 and has been spending its time aging on the first floor of Warehouse P. It’s described as having notes of “ripe cherries, vanilla cream and oak” on the nose, “caramel and coffee” on the palate, and “a long finish of oak, pepper and fresh herbs.”

Sazerac 18 Year Old

The 2020 release of Sazerac Rye 18 Year Old is bottled at 90 proof (45% ABV). The barrels for this straight rye whiskey were filled in the spring of 2002 and rested on the second floor of Warehouse K. It’s described as having flavors of “oak, caramel and dark chocolate” with “coffee, black pepper and cherries” on the finish.

The 2020 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection will be available in limited quantities starting in late September/early October at a suggested retail price of $99 each.
