Tequila Don Julio Releases Reposado Double Cask Finished in Lagavulin Whisky Casks
Tequila Don Julio has announced the release of its second limited edition barrel finished expression, Don Julio Reposado Double Cask. This release takes a Reposado tequila that has been traditionally matured for eight months and finishes it for two weeks in casks that previously held Lagavulin single malt Scotch whisky.
Bottled at 40% ABV, Don Julio Reposado Double Cask is described as having a nose of “Warming wood-fire smoked agave” and a palate of “Carmelized agave balanced with undertones of rich sherry, toasted oak, and smoky peat; top-noted with a touch of spiced orange rind and a hint of fig”, finishing with “Warming hints of cinnamon spice.”
Tequila Don Julio Reposado Double Cask will be available beginning Summer 2019 and carries a suggested retail price of $64.99.

It may not be available in Nevada yet as a search on wine-searcher.com yields no results. That being said, it wouldn’t hurt to inquire with a local shop.
