Kentucky Owl Rye Batch #2 Released
Kentucky Owl has announced the release of Kentucky Owl Straight Rye Whiskey Batch #2. As with Batch #1, Batch #2 will be a limited release distributed to select U.S. markets. It was noted that Kentucky Owl Rye Batch #2 will be released in smaller quantities than Batch #1, though no figures were provided for how many bottles of either batch have been produced.
Kentucky Owl Rye Batch #1 was released in September 2017, bottled at 11 years old, 55.3% ABV (110.6 proof), and carried a suggested price of $119.99. Batch #2 retains the 11 year age statement, but comes in at a lower 50.9% ABV (101.8 proof) and at a higher suggested price of $199.99.
Kentucky Owl describes Batch #2 as having “notes of honey, cinnamon and strawberry jam undertones. The combination of rich sweetness and baking spices coat the entire palate, while hints of honey and red pepper linger, giving a long-lasting finish.”
Kentucky Owl Rye Batch #2 will be available in limited quantities beginning this month in the following markets: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, District of Colombia, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.
