Michter’s to Release Toasted Barrel Finish Rye
Michter’s has announced the first release of their US*1 Toasted Barrel Finish Rye, releasing this month in limited quantities.
Michter’s Toasted Barrel Finish Rye is made by taking their straight rye at barrel strength and aging it for an unspecified amount of time in a second, custom-made barrel that has been toasted but not charred. Michter’s claims the toasting profile was “specifically designed to enhance the spice character in the rye while adding hints of dark toast and smoke.”
Due to the nature of barrel proof products, the proof varies a bit from barrel to barrel, with the average proof for this release coming in at 108.6. The suggested retail price of Michter’s Toasted Barrel Finish Rye is $75.
