Glenmorangie’s next annual Private Edition release has been revealed through a TTB submission. Private Edition No. 9 will go by the name Glenmorangie Spios, a single malt fully matured in American ex-Rye casks, which the distillery claims will lend the whisky a “savoury elegance and subtle spice”.
We recently heard a rumor about Macallan having plans to re-release The Macallan Cask Strength this summer. After digging around the TTB website, we stumbled upon an entry for “The Macallan Classic Cut”, a 2017 limited edition bottled at 58.4%. All signs point to this being the bottle we’ve been hearing about, though it appears Macallan will be re-releasing it under a different name.
