Brown-Forman Revives Kentucky Boy Bourbon

Brown-Forman Corporation has announced the launch of Kentucky Boy, a revival of a historic brand honoring Master Distiller Emeritus Chris Morris for his 50 years of service and innovation in the bourbon industry.
The Kentucky Boy label was originally acquired by Brown-Forman in 1923 when the company purchased Louisville’s Lynndale Distillery during Prohibition. Marketed through the 1940s under a thoroughbred racing theme, the dormant brand has been brought back in honor of Morris.
Crafted by Woodford Reserve Master Distiller Elizabeth McCall and Old Forester Assistant Master Distiller Caleb Trigo, Kentucky Boy is a one-time limited release and was inspired by whiskies that Morris developed during his career, including Old Forester Birthday Bourbon, King of Kentucky, and Woodford Reserve Double Oaked.
Official tasting notes for Kentucky Boy follow:
Nose: Rich chocolate and toasted hazelnut mingle with Luxardo cherry, warm nutmeg, and the comforting aroma of fresh-baked apple pie.
Palate: Crisp ginger snap cookie and stewed apples unfold across the tongue, layered with sweet charred oak and a delicate medley of baking spices.
Finish: Long, sweet, and lingering, with dark cherries, golden raisin, and a gentle ribbon of hickory smoke fading into warmth.
Kentucky Boy is presented at 100 proof (50% ABV) and carries a suggested retail price of $99.99. It will debut September 10 at the Kentucky Bourbon Festival in Bardstown, Kentucky. Beginning September 11 at 10:00am ET, bottles will be available in limited quantities at Old Forester Distillery in Louisville, in the online store at shop.oldforester.com for shipping to select states (D.C., KY, NE, NH, and ND), and at select Kentucky retailers.
A portion of the net proceeds from Kentucky Boy bottle sales will benefit nonprofit Second Stride, a leading national equine adoption program dedicated to professional rehabilitation, retraining, and placement of retired Thoroughbred racehorses.
