Koopers Whiskey Launches 8 Year Barrel Proof Bourbon Finished in Texas Oak

Koopers Whiskey has announced the launch of Koopers Whiskey Texas Oak Bourbon, a limited edition bourbon finished in Texas-grown white oak barrels.
Koopers Whiskey Texas Oak Bourbon was distilled at MGP in Indiana from a mash bill of 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malted barley. It was initially matured in traditional charred American white oak barrels, then finished in toasted Texas-grown white oak barrels produced by Standard Cooperage in Blanco, Texas. Koopers Whiskey Texas Oak Bourbon is bottled at 8 years old and a barrel proof of 114.8 (57.4% ABV).
Koopers Texas Oak Bourbon is described as having aromas of “toasted caramel, Texas pecan, maple syrup, orange peel, and dark cherry.” The palate exhibits flavors of “baked apple and stone fruit layered with maple syrup, cinnamon, and brown sugar.” The finish is “long and warming, with waves of cinnamon, toasted oak, oaky honey, and crème brûlée.
Koopers Texas Oak Bourbon is limited to 360 bottles and will be available for purchase online beginning at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 22, and at the Koopers Whiskey tasting room for a suggested retail price of $70.
