Silver Brothers Distillery Announces First Single Barrel Release – Barrel No. 8
Silver Brothers Distillery has announced its first-ever single-barrel release, Silver Brothers Rye Whiskey Barrel No. 8.
Bottled uncut at a barrel strength of 55.4% ABV straight from a single 30-gallon barrel, Silver Brothers Rye Whiskey Barrel No. 8 has the same age and mash bill as Silver Brothers 3 Year Rye Batch No. 1, but with a twist – this barrel was fermented with Kveik, an ancient Scandinavian brewer’s yeast, giving it a darker, more brooding character than the standard release.
Silver Brothers Rye Whiskey Barrel No. 8 is described as exhibiting “dark plum, cocoa, and slate on the nose, with black cherry, chocolate, and white pepper on the palate, finishing long and earthy.”
Silver Brothers Rye Whiskey Barrel No. 8 is limited to 120 hand-labeled and numbered bottles and will be available in late July/early August as a distillery exclusive for $88.
