Penderyn Distillery has announced the launch of its age-statement collection, featuring 12, 21 and 25 year old single malts.

The collection launches with Penderyn 25 Year Old, which was drawn from a single Sherry butt and bottled at cask strength, yielding just 420 bottles.

Official tasting notes for Penderyn 25 Year Old follow:

Nose: Elegant and mature with gentle sherry influence. Aromas of orange blossom, dried apricot, sherry-soaked raisins, with hints of soft oak rise elegantly, giving way to layers of toffee and cocoa.

Palate: Velvety and beautifully balanced. Subtle notes of fig, vanilla cream, soft toffee and warming spiced oak weaving through a foundation of rich malt. At the back of the palate hint of cocoa powder and a whisper of nutmeg.

Finish: Long, graceful, and warming, leaving whispers of fruit, nuts, and soft cocoa on the tongue. A celebration of time, cask, and Welsh craftsmanship.

Penderyn 25 Year Old is available now for a suggested retail price of £1,200. Penderyn 12 Year Old and 21 Year Old will follow later this month.
