Edrington Sells Majority Stake in Wyoming Whiskey
WW Partners, LLC, a Wyoming-based investment group, has acquired Edrington’s 80% stock holdings in Wyoming Whiskey, returning full ownership of the distillery to its home state.
Led by Co-Founder David DeFazio, the acquisition marks a new chapter for Wyoming Whiskey. Edrington, the Scotland-based spirits group behind The Macallan, Highland Park, and The Glenrothes, invested in Wyoming Whiskey in 2018. During its partnership, Edrington worked alongside the Wyoming Whiskey team to refine and elevate the distillery’s production processes. The Wyoming-led ownership group will build on that foundation as it returns the brand to its roots.
As part of its next phase, Wyoming Whiskey is reuniting with Nancy Fraley, the Master Blender responsible for the creation of Outryder, 10th Anniversary Edition, and countless other whiskies for the brand. Fraley returns after a nearly three-year hiatus and will once again work alongside DeFazio and the production team on future whiskey development.
