Bulleit Unveils Bourbon Made with Mesquite Wood-Smoked Malt
Bulleit Frontier Whiskey has announced the launch of Bulleit Bourbon Mesquite Smoked Malt, a limited release made with an experimental mashbill that swaps rye for mesquite smoked malt.
Distilled in November 2018 from a mash bill of 65% corn, 30% mesquite smoked malt, and 5% malted barley, Bulleit Bourbon Mesquite Smoked Malt was aged for a minimum of six years at Bulleit Distilling Co. before being bottled in Fall 2025 at 93 proof (46.5% ABV).
Bulleit Bourbon Mesquite Smoked Malt is described as having aromas of “caramelized sugar and warm mesquite smoke.” The palate exhibits “layers of sweet vanilla and oak, balanced by subtle smokiness that nods to classic BBQ pit flavors.” The finish is “light yet lingering, leaving a gentle, barbecue-inspired warmth.”
Bulleit Bourbon Mesquite Smoked Malt is now available for a suggested retail price of $49.99 for a 750 mL bottle.
