Mount Gay Re-Introduces Silver Rum in the U.S.
After being unavailable in the country for many years, Mount Gay has re-introduced Mount Gay Silver in the U.S.
Redeveloped and crafted by Master Blender Trudiann Branker, Mount Gay Silver is a blend of column and pot still rums. The column still component of the blend is unaged, while the pot still portion is aged for two years in ex-American Whiskey casks. The rum goes through a double filtration process, one of which consists of filtration through charcoal, which removes the color. Mount Gay Silver has no sugar added and is bottled at 40% ABV.
Mount Gay Silver is described as having aromas of “citrus, pineapple, and toffee,” flavors of “grapefruit, butterscotch, and cane,” and a “smooth and refined” finish.
Mount Gay Silver is available in select markets across the U.S. in 1 Liter format.
