Jos. A. Magnus & Co. Revives Private Cask Program
Jos. A. Magnus & Co. has announced the return of its Private Cask Program.
First introduced in 2016 and paused since 2019, the Jos. A. Magnus Private Cask Program allows participants to select their own barrel of bourbon onsite at the distillery in Holland, Michigan, with a limited number of virtual selections available.
Jos. A. Magnus currently has 46 barrels available for public allocation. The barrels on offer feature 10 year old, high rye bourbon (60% corn / 36% rye / 4% malted barley) aged in tight-grain Seguin Moreau barrels from one of France’s most revered cooperages. Jos. A. Magnus claims the Seguin Moreau barrels “enhance the bourbon’s mid-palate density while revealing layers of baking spice, dark vanilla bean, toasted nuts, refined tannins, dried fruit, and cocoa.”
All barrels selected through the Private Cask Program will be bottled at cask strength (expected 105–110 proof), yielding approximately 150-180 bottles, each with a personalized label. Each purchase also includes the original Seguin Moreau barrel in which the bourbon was matured. Bottles from the Jos. A. Magnus Private Cask Program have a suggested retail price of $124.99.
