Bardstown Bourbon Company Reveals Discovery Series #13
Bardstown Bourbon Company has unveiled Discovery Series #13, the first double-barreled expression in the Discovery Series.
To create Discovery Series #13, Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskies aged between 8-15 years were blended and split into batches for secondary finishing in two distinct oak varieties. For four months, 60% of the blend rested in new American White Oak barrels. The remaining 40% aged in Hungarian Oak barrels. With a tighter grain, the Hungarian oak barrels were stored on a higher floor to promote extraction. Meanwhile, the American oak barrels, which quickly yield flavor, rested on a lower level to ease into the final flavor profile. After four months of finishing, the barrels were blended together and bottled at 110.8 proof (55.4% ABV).

Discovery Series #13 is described as exhibiting notes of “caramel, vanilla, and dried fruit layered with baking spice, campfire ash, clove, cinnamon, and toffee.”
Bardstown Bourbon Company Discovery Series #13 will be available nationwide beginning August 29, 2025 and carries a suggested retail price of $139.99.
