Buffalo Trace Distillery Releases Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Distiller’s Council

Buffalo Trace Distillery has announced the release of Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Distiller’s Council, a limited edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey crafted using equipment and based on techniques originally invented by Taylor himself. This release stands as the closest modern interpretation of the bourbons produced under Taylor’s leadership at O.F.C Distillery (now Buffalo Trace) during the 19th century.
Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Distiller’s Council is described as having a nose that is “grain-forward with biscuit and pastry notes,” and a palate of “toasted sugar, dark caramel, crème brûlée, plum dessert, and nougat.”
Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Distiller’s Council is bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) in a vintage-style, Grecian glass decanter modeled after one featured in a 1950s-era Old Taylor “Original Recipe” Bourbon advertisement.
Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Distiller’s Council will be available in limited quantities beginning this month for a suggested retail price of $1,499.99 per 750 mL bottle.
