Hawk’s Rock Distillery Releases Its Inaugural Whiskey: Garavogue 20 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey

Sazerac has announced the first release from its recently rebranded Hawk’s Rock Distillery: Garavogue 20 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey.
Crafted by Master Blender Helen Mulholland, the limited edition Irish Whiskey was double-distilled and initially aged for a minimum of 14 years in ex-bourbon American oak casks. It was then transferred into a variety of finishing casks including French Muscat, French Sauternes, Spanish Pedro Ximénez Sherry, and Barbadian Rum casks for further maturation prior to being bottled at 94 proof (47% ABV).
Garavogue 20 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey is described as having aromas of “vanilla, warm peach, spun sugar, and floral and raisin notes.” The palate exhibits flavors of “vanilla, citrus sweetness, and buttery ripe apples,” concluding with “fresh fruit flavors” on the finish.
Garavogue 20 Year Old Single Malt Irish Whiskey will be available across the United States, Ireland, United Kingdom, and Duty-Free beginning this month for a suggested retail price of $199 for a 700 mL bottle.

It doesn’t appear to be available in New York (yet). Try using Wine-Searcher or 1000 Corks to find a store that can ship to you.
