Mount Gay Launches Master Blender Collection: The Cognac Cask Expression
Mount Gay has launched the eighth limited edition rum in the Master Blender Collection: The Cognac Cask Expression.
This year’s Master Blender Collection release was produced from column distilled rums aged in St Lucy, Barbados for four years in ex-Cognac French oak barrels sourced from the house of Rémy Martin. The Cognac Cask Expression is presented at 58% ABV, non-chill filtered, and with no coloring added.
Mount Gay Master Blender Collection: The Cognac Cask Expression is described as having aromas of “red fruits, vanilla, leather, and a touch of orange zest.” The palate exhibits notes of “cherry, salted caramel, brown sugar, and oak.” The finish is “long” and “carries a pleasant sweetness, underscored by the signature dryness imparted by the French oak casks.”
Mount Gay Master Blender Collection: The Cognac Cask Expression is limited to 6,276 bottles worldwide and carries a recommended retail price of $210 for a 70 cL bottle.
