Old Elk Distillery Rebrands Flagship Blended Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Old Elk Distillery has rebranded its flagship Blended Straight Bourbon Whiskey as Old Elk Slow Cut.
To create Slow Cut, Old Elk starts with its custom high-malt straight bourbon mash bill that is aged from 4-7 years, and blends with Old Elk select straight bourbons with a high-space flavor profile. Old Elk Slow Cut is proofed down to 88 proof (44% ABV) prior to bottling using Old Elk’s trademarked proofing technique. Old Elk claims that the Slow Cut Proofing Process preserves flavor by lengthening the standard proofing process.
Old Elk Slow Cut is described as having aromas of “sweet vanilla and caramel with hints of clove spice,” and flavors of “maple syrup, bran, chocolate malt, vanilla, and subtle spice.”
Old Elk Slow Cut Blended Straight Bourbon Whiskey is now available nationwide for a suggested retail price of $39.99 per 750 mL bottle.
