High West Launches A Midwinter Night’s Dram Act 12
High West has announced the 2024 release of A Midwinter Night’s Dram, an annual, limited release of High West Rendezvous Rye finished in French oak Ruby and Tawny Port barrels.
This year’s release, Act 12, is a blend of two rye mash bills: 95% rye/5% barley malt from MGP and 80% rye/20% malted rye from High West.
High West A Midwinter Night’s Dram Act 12 is described as having aromas of “brandied cherries, Calimyrna figs, pecan cinnamon rolls, allspice berries, grapefruit zest, French oak shavings, and hayride in the fall.” The palate exhibits notes of “poached white peaches, stewed rhubarb, Italian tiramisu, candied ginger, clove, weathered cinnamon bark, fresh-pulled espresso, and raspberry tarte on a cedar plank.” The finish is “silky and sumptuous,” with notes of “sticky toffee pudding served with spiced plum tea.”
High West A Midwinter Night’s Dram Act 12 is bottled non-chill filtered at 49.3% ABV (98.6 proof) and is available in limited quantities at a suggested retail price $149.99.
