Eden Mill Launches Smoked Salt Cocktail Syrup
Independent Scottish distiller Eden Mill has announced the launch of Eden Mill Smoked Salt, a sugar syrup for use in cocktails and mocktails. Created in collaboration with a local artisanal salt producer from St Monans, East Neuk Salt Company, the syrup combines elements of sweet, salty, and smoky.
St Monans was a thriving sea salt producer in the 17th century until its decline in the 1820s. 200 years later, husband and wife duo, Darren and Mhairi Peattie, founded East Neuk Salt Co. using a combination of traditional and modern methods to create 100% organically hand-harvested Scottish sea salt flakes using the finest Grade A waters sourced from the East Neuk.
The St Monans sea salt is smoked with cask staves from Eden Mill’s single malt whisky, resulting in a cocktail modifier that adds a light smoky element, balanced by sea salt and sugar, to drinks.
Eden Mill Smoked Salt is currently only available as a bundle with The Guard Bridge Blended Malt Scotch Whisky for £45 on edenmill.com.
